@mariabloec You mean on the list of installed packages? Often, when I’m done writing a script or when I’m done with a project, I pipe sessionInfo() to a requirements.txt. But I don’t use solutions like packrat or renv.
6/6 If you want to test if the new version works with your workflow/packages before updating, you could ask a colleague who already updated or use rstudio.cloud as soon as v4.0.0 is available there.

5/6 A change with potentially big consequences is that R now uses a stringsAsFactors = FALSE default. Calls to data.frame() and read.table() using the default will behave differently after the update. Check your old code for errors! 
3/6 As usual with R and a major version update, you'll have to reinstall *all* packages you had installed. This can be a great time to start fresh and only install the packages you actually need (as you need them).

Because I like living on the edge, I just updated my #RStats to the newly released v4.0.0. While I would always recommend waiting a while before updating to a new major version, you (like me) might want to update *now*. If that's the case, keep some things in mind:

Thema #Gamerszene und #halle0910: Wir müssen jetzt aufpassen, nicht gegen den Strohmann der Killerspiel-Debatte der 0er Jahre zu argumentieren und uns zu Aussagen wie „Generalverdacht und Diffamierung von Gamern“ hinreißen zu lassen.
Diese Form der Viktimisierung ist nämlich genau die Rhetorik, die die Faschisten nutzten, um junge Männer aus der Szene zu radikalisieren. @luca hat in diesem Thread einige relevante Texte u.a. von @lasersushi und @ChrisStoecker zum Thema gesammelt:
